Turley Estate in St Helena, Napa Valley. Vines are of 26 years old and farmed organically. 100% French oak of which about 40% is new. Only indigenous yeasts are used in the fermentation.
Certified organic, Napa Valley single vineyard, pure Cabernet Sauvignon--not something that can be said by many! Planted in 1989 on the volcanic and alluvial soils found in northern Napa Valley, this vineyard forms the eastern border of the Turley estate and is framed on two sides by ancient, majestic oak trees. This wine has ripe, classic Napa Cabernet fruit, rounded out by the savory herbs and garrigue that are the marks of our Estate vineyards. Medium-bodied, with great structure and a smooth, texture and long, graceful finish. Immensely enjoyable in its youth, though the wine can easily age for 5 to 10 years as well.
92 Points Vinous (2016 Vintage) - A huge, searing wine of animal power, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Turley Estate clearly needs time to come together. Still there is plenty of depth and density in the glass to allow that to happen. Tobacco, cedar, menthol and waves of dark fruit leave a lasting impression. This is another 2016 at Turley that comes across as quite raw and unformed.
