Voted Distillery of the Year by Icons of Whisky 2017
Gold Medal at San Francisco World Spirits Competition
A 2003 vintage single malt Scotch whisky from the Balblair distillery. They were matured in second fill bourbon casks until 2013 when the whisky was popped in Balblair's stylish bottles.
Wine Enthusiast - The year on the bottle—2003—is not an age statement, but instead was the year this single-malt Scotch was laid down. A light-straw color, it has a bright, fresh aroma, with breezy notes of vanilla, hay, honey and pear. On the palate, it's astringent and overwhelmingly peppery, smoothed by a bit of honey on the finish. A splash of water tones down the peppery heat and brings more vanilla and honey sweetness forward.
