Description

Vivid crimson in color, opulent aromatics of strawberry preserves, clove and prickly pear are immediately noticeable. Rich and concentrated notes of duck plum sauce and red currants mingle with spiced hints of Garam Masala, green peppercorn and steeped green tea. The wine is fresh and lively, with superb grip and acidity that elevate the wine’s mid palate and frame its plush and harmonious finish.

95 Points Wine Enthusiast - Rusty red cherry, wild mint, turned earth and rainbow peppercorns show on the lovely nose of this bottling by Chad Melville from his family's property. The palate is extremely fresh and vibrant, with Bing cherry and plump hibiscus flavors at the core, dazzled by white pepper and olive tapenade on the fringes.

94 Points
Jeb Dunnuck - Terrific notes of red currants, underbrush/forest floor, and some savory, gamy notes emerge from the 2016 Pinot Noir Anna's, which is from clones 667 and 114. It's another wine that shines for its silky texture yet packs ample mid-palate depth as well as building structure and tannin. It's going to evolve beautifully for 10-15 years.

93 Points
Vinous - The 2016 Pinot Noir Estate Anna's Block is another wine that has turned out nicely. A bit more pliant and generous than most wines from this site, the Anna's is wonderfully expressive. The 60% whole clusters are not especially evident. Time in barrel have softened some of the more masculine contours that were present in barrel.
