94 Points Wine Spectator - Refined and impeccably structured, with floral black cherry and dusty dried spice aromas, and complex plum, olive and mocha flavors that glide toward polished tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2023.
92 Points Wine Advocate - One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2014 Frederick checks in as a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec. It has classic notes of cedary spice, lead pencil shaving and currants as well as medium to full-bodied, richness, solid overall balance and building tannin. I suspect it will benefit from short term cellaring and keep for a decade.
92 Points Wine & Spirits - Spring Valley’s Cabernet Sauvignon–heavy estate blend has a cedary, cinnamon-stick coating of spice, with velvety, dark plum fruit. The texture feels oak derived, but pleasingly lean and elegant as a result, buoyed by enough acidity to keep the wine lively and linear.
