Product Notes:
It is award winning blend of grain whiskies, from two closed distilleries: Cambus which began distilling grain in Clackmannashire in 1823; and Caledonian, built in Edinburgh in 1855.
It has a complex oily, fruity nose with a whiff of salt/peat. On the palate it is wonderfully smooth and silky, slightly oily with a complex melange of rich fruitcake, vanilla, orange, peat and toffee which slowly builds on the tongue to a lovely soft and long finish.

'Compass Box is a specialist Scotch whisky company. We are devoted to making some of Scotland's premier whiskies through the art of blending.
We work like fine wine negociants. We choose individual casks of whiskies from different distilleries that offer complementary sets of flavours. We carefully blend these casks in small batches to make our proprietary whiskies.
We bottle a range of types of Scotch whisky-malt whiskies, grain whisky, malt & grain blends-but at the core of everything is a desire to bring out a purity of flavour, a richness, a drinking experience that will call you back to the glass. To me, this latter point is the true measure of a whisky's quality.

Gauntleys are now stocking the stunning creations of John Glaser of the Compass Box Whisky Company. Their whiskies appealed to us not only because they taste so good, but of their philosophy.
John Glaser invents his whiskies. After sampling a vast amount of different malt and grain whiskies, selecting the right barrels and then masterfully blending and bottling small batches without colouring and especially without filtration he has created a unique range of whiskies which need to be tasted to be believed.
