Gold Reserve New Bottle: A skillful blend of rare aged malts creates the indulgent flavor of Gold Label.
A glass of Johnnie Walker Gold Label is pure indulgence. A skillful blend of rare aged malts creates the rich, creamy and honeyed flavors of Gold Label. Inspired by the notes of Sir Alexander Walker, who created the original blend in 1920 to mark the birthday of his grandfather John Walker, this is a whisky made for celebration.
The exclusive combination of rare single malts from a handful of Scotland's most revered distilleries, all more than 18 years old, gives this unusually silky blend a delicate, creamy smoothness incomparable to any other scotch whisky. Try our unique frozen serve and experience the changing flavors as it warms in the mouth.
-Rich, broad, distinctively creamy -Smooth and silky, with hints of raisin, toffee and honey -Delicate notes of vanilla, honey, malt and dried fruit are intensified by freezing before drinking.
A blend of our rarest malts and most superior grains, matured to their peak, Johnnie Walker Blue Label represents our highest achievement.
Blue Label recreates the flavors of the Walkers' early whiskies, in a bottle that also takes its design from the 19th century. Every single component of this exceptional blend has been handpicked from exclusive distilleries, some of which are no longer in existence. We draw these components from extraordinary casks, usually one in every two million. As soon as they're discovered, they're set aside for Blue Label and matured until their absolute peak - however long that may take.
Charles MacLean, Scotland's foremost whisky writer: "Blue Label was created to celebrate the traditional style of 19th century whiskies. The result is a whisky with a velvety-smooth mouthfeel that gives an explosion of flavors on the palate. It is the epitome of the art of blending and has won more gold medals for excellence than any other super premium whisky. To achvieve this award-winning flavor requires exceptional skills and very special, rare whiskies that are superlative examples of their make."
-Velvety smooth, mellow taste with traces of smoke, honey and sweet spice -Foral with hints of toffee, sandalwood and chocolate -Well-balanced, long and intense

Robert Scott has been immersed in the Scotch Whisky trade since he left school at the age of 16. Starting first as a lowly distillery worker responsible for cleaning the stills, he rose steadily through the ranks, gaining extensive knowledge of the distilling trade. By the time he had reached his 32nd birthday not only had he gained an enviable reputation as an accomplished all-rounder in whisky production but, most importantly, he had become one of the most respected "nosers" of Scotch Whiskies. His keen sense of smell, combined with years of training, permitted him to appreciate the individual characteristics and idiosyncrasies of as many as 100 different malt whiskies. His training enabled him to detect any flaws in specific distillations, so that immediate remedial action could be taken.
As time passed, he became increasingly expert at selecting different malts to meet the demands of his exacting employer Mr George Christie, founder of the Speyside Distillery.
In the 1970s Robert Scott was appointed Master Distiller, a position he held in the finest traditions of this ancient craft until retirement beckoned. Prior to caring full time for his garden in Glasgow, Robert was, however, to be given one final assignment, namely to create a personal selection of his favourite single malt whiskies. Thus Scott's Selection was born.
Robert's criteria for choosing his Selection is rigorous:
Only top quality malts (and one top quality grain) are included, with an optimum level of ageing.
The greatest care is taken during bottling to ensure that the malts are maintained as closely as possible to their natural state in the cask. Thus whiskies are filtered but not chilled prior to bottling; nor are they diluted by the addition of water. Only by following the strictest quality controls can the individual characteristics of each malt be fully appreciated.
The consumer packaging should reflect the heritage and character of the whiskies and distinguish the three distinct distilling areas: Highland, Lowland and Islay.
Over the past few years a number of new additions have been added to the original portfolio while stocks of some others have, inevitably, been exhausted. The Selection now reads like an encyclopaedia of "great whiskies of Scotland". From the majestic Macallan to the suprising North of Scotland single grain whisky, the range is impressive. Scott's Selection is distributed in the major malt whisky markets of the world including the United States and Europe and it is hoped that it will soon be widely available in the resurgent Japanese Market.
Scott's Selection is a tribute to the great tradition of distilling whisky in Scotland and above all to the knowledge and expertise of Robert Scott, Master Distiller.
