About the Wines
Dom Perignon: Medium to full-bodied, with crisp acidity buttressing the wines wealth of fruit and intensity, it comes across as extraordinarly zesty, well-delineated, and incredibly long on the palate. Moet-Chandon deserves considerable accolades for this prodigious example of Dom Perignon.
Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame: On the nose this wine is exceptionally elegant. Dominant floral notes (mint and white flowers) mingle with hints of fresh fruit (citrus fruits, fresh almonds). As it undergoes aeration, riper notes of vanilla and nougat come to the fore, giving a pleasant roundness to the wine. At this stage a typical Chardonnay characteristic, crisp elegance, clearly prevails over aromatic strength. In the mouth, the Pinot Noir reveals its true personality.Fruity notes (white peaches, grapefruit and bergamot) dominate an energetic attack on the palate, which is prolonged by the structure and roundedness of the wine.
Louis Roederer Cristal: A steady stream of lustrous gold, cascading into a creamy mousse and a profusion of delicate bubbles. A very fine, very complex, constantly evolving bouquet. Opening notes of ripe, white-fleshed fruits and dried fruits give rise to a melody of white flowers, butter, brioche and toast. The attack is straightforward and smooth. On the palate, the wine has tremendous presence, creating a sensation of creaminess, flexibility and fullness. The texture is fine and silky; the taste rich, without the least trace of heaviness, overlaying indulgent flavors of ripe and dried fruits with a delicate vinosity. A long finish, sustained by tremendous aromatic persistence and a fine freshness. A wine of great purity, a perfect fusion of power and finesse.
