About Estate:
Since 1980, Amador Foothill Winery has produced wines with great balance, finesse, and value. How? By learning to read what is going on in each specific vineyard as the fruit matures.There is no substitution for walking the vineyards, observing the conditions and, most importantly, tasting the ripening grapes to determine when they are literally bursting with flavor.

Food Pairing:
Syrah/Shiraz wines tend to be spicy. As such, syrah/shiraz wines pair excellently with bold flavored meats such as peppered beef, BBQ, and sausages. Syrah/Shiraz wines also work well with spicy cusines such as Mexican and Cajun.

About Varietal:
Syrah originated in the south of France. These days, excellent Syrah is produced in California, Australia, as well as France. Many Syrahs (Shiraz in South Africa and Australia), are bold wines with intense flavors. Common flavors characteristics are berries, pepper, clove, anise and smoke.
