| 2008 Redtree Pinot Noir ( Best Buy) California |
Product Notes: From Wine Spectator: "Offers baked cherry pie, with rhubarb and blueberry, showing a wonderful fruit profile that's spicy, elegant and easy to drink. Great balance. Drink now."
(Tasting Highlights, May 4, 2009) Also from James Laube of Wine Spectator: "You rarely find the words "excellent" and "inexpensive" in the same sentence as Pinot Noir. But yesterday I found that rarest of rarities-an $8.99 Pinot Noir that is an amazing buy, with a very good rating. It’s the 2008 RedTree California Pinot and in my blind tasting I was wowed by this wine’s elegance, balance and complex mix of baked cherry pie, rhubarb and blueberry flavors." (James Laube Unfined Blog, April 22, 2009)
Light ruby color with strawberry jam aromas. The texture is silky on a medium and delicate body. Lots of juicy cherries with a touch of oak. There's a hint of brown spice in the finish. Quite complex for the money!
