| 2000 Valduero Reserva 750ml 12 Pack Ribera del Duero, Spain |
Product Notes: Dark cherry color with a slight brick edge. Deep, juicy and full! Strong, layered aromas of spicy cherries, candied fruit, orange peel, star anise, and earth in perfect balance with the wood tones. Also hints of plum, leather, smoke, balsamic and cedar mingle with delightful floral aromas as the wine opens. On the palate it shows delicious raspberry, plum and meaty tones. Smooth texture, well-balanced tannins and acidity. Long finishes that shows the vanilla from the barrel. Complex and mature.
The 1998 vintage offered great fruit and body. This Reserva has been aged for 30 months in French and American Oak barrels. 100% Tempranillo. The result is something special!

About Estate: Bodegas Valduero, located in Gumiel de Mercado, was established in 1984 as the sixth registered bodega of the now more than 125 in the Ribera del Duero D.O. The Valduero wines exhibit a “classic” Ribera del Duero profile showing firm fruit, spice and earth that is tempered and finished by barrel and cellar aging. Also, Valduero wines represent an extraordinary value because they own their vineyards and don’t have to source their fruit on the open market.

Food Pairing: Tempranillo goes well with many Spanish dishes. Tempranillo goes especially well with lamb, chorizo, grilled seafood, roasted peppers, sheep's milk cheeses, and all varieties of ham including serrano ham and prosciutto.

About Varietal: Wines made from Tempranillo tend to have a nice fruity sweetness. They tend to have light tannins, and light acidity.
