2003 Sadler Wells Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
750ml- $34.99
Wine Maker Notes: "Our 2003 pinot noir is quite a compelling wine. The aromas, flavors, and textures, as well as mineral characters suggest a pinot noir of Burgundy. We acquire our pinot selection from the Manuel Franco single vineyard we believe has proven to be of grand cru. Holding back our release allows the wine to settle in the cellar maximizing the character and presenting maturity, balance and elegance at once."

2002 Fife Syrah Mendocino Red 750ml-$ 19.99
"Fife Mendocino Syrah is a finely crafted assemblage of fruit from four different vineyard sites, carefully orchestrated picking dates, and a complex aging regime involving some newer oak but also older passive barrels. The flavor is a sumptuous mingling of dark chocolate, spices, and black fruits, laced with an almost primordial sense of rich earthiness. Pair with a wide range of grilled or roasted meats and vegetables. As in the Rhône, game and mushrooms, sausage and olives, rustic braises and casseroles, and other savory foods work exceeding well."

By Connoisseurs' Guide
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines, Jul 05
Rated: 87
The winery's basic bottling is almost the antithesis of the wine above. This one is wonderfully direct in its slightly candied, red apple smells and its juicy apple, quietly peachy flavors. It is well-balanced and easy to like, and it would make a good partner to lighter fish and simply prepared chicken dishes.
