Product Notes: The nose is quite rich and full. There are notes of mocchaccino and espresso coffee, wood smoke and a fireplace, a touch of bitter chocolate and oak. The palate is of medium-body with notes of crisp cereals, coffee beans and chocolate, a date note with a touch of walnut. The finish is quite long and spicy with honeyed sweetness and oak.

About Estate: John Walker was born in 1805, and opened his first business (a grocery store) at the age of 15. John Walker had been experimenting with tea blending, and began blending whiskies in the same way. His whiskies were soon on sale, and before long, started receiving critical acclaim. John Walker died in 1857, and passed the business along to his son Alexander. Alexander was responsible for aggressively promoting the brand. As the British Empire expanded, so too did Johnnie Walker. The business was passed on to Alexander's sons, and the brand became even more recognized around the world. Today, Johnnie Walker is the world's leading producer of Scotch Whisky.

About Varietal: "Vatted Malt" refers to whisky that is blended from a number of different single malts from different distilleries. Unlike a blended whisky, vatted malts do not contain any grain whisky.
The term "vatting" is used to describe the blending process - and does not automatically equate to a vatted malt.
Vatted malts or pure malts are to be reclassified as Blended malts as part of a process to standardize Scotch whisky descriptors set out by The Scotch Whisky Association which represents the majority of Scotch whisky distillers in the Industry.

Recipe: The only way to serve fine Scotch is straight--either on the rocks, or by itself.
