Age 15 years.Selected from the private stock of the Gardere family, a limited quantity is relaeased each year and made available to connoisseurs. The "cognac of rums" The Rhum Barbancourt plant was founded in 1862 by the Gardere family and thus began the distillation of the world's finest Haitan rum.
Rhum Barbancourt is a superior premium dark rum distilled twice in copper pot stills. It is them barrel aged in white oak barrels. Unlike other island rums, Barbancourt is made directly from sugar can juice, pressed from hand-cut locally grown cane.

 About Estate:
Rhum Barbancourt is a rum producing company based in Haiti. The family business originated in the 1860s, with the product being made from sugar cane juice. DuprT Barbancourt discovered the procedure to make the rum on 15 December 1862, and began selling it for G1.50 (US$0.30) per gallon the next day. In 1952, the company ramped up production, turning from a cottage industry into a major world producer of rum.
Barbancourt exclusively makes rhum agricole (agricultural rum), meaning the rum is made directly from sugar cane juice rather than the sugar cane by-product of molasses. Its products are highly regarded, having won many tastings and competitions. Its Estate RTserve is aged for 15 years.
Barbancourt's rums are marketed in 20 countries and Barbancourt is among Haiti's best known companies internationally.
The sugar cane used to produce the juice used to distill Barbancourt's rum is grown on plantations owned directly by the company. The rum is double distilled, using a process similar to that used to produce cognac.

Recipe:
1 ounce Rum (White)
1/2 ounce Créme de Noyeaux
1 1/2 ounces Sweet & Sour Mix
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
1 1/2 ounces Orange Juice
1/2 ounce 151 Proof Rum
Preparation:
Shake all ingredients (except 151-proof rum) with ice and strain into a collins glass over ice cubes. Float the 151-proof rum on top, add a cherry (if desired), and serve with a straw.
