| Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky (18 Years Old)|
A rare single malt created for the connoisseur, Glenfiddich Ancient Reserve 18 Year Old is a fine testament to the art of the craftsman. Its complex character and sublime mellowness come from the long years of maturation in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and traditional bourbon casks, carefully selected by The Glenfiddich Malt Master. The sweetness from the sherry wood is seamlessly complemented by the oakiness from the traditional casks.
The whisky is the only Highland or Speyside Scotch whisky to be distilled, matured and bottled at a single distillery. The distillery is the only Scotch whisky distillery to use a single source of natural spring water. This source is the Robbie Dhu springs. Glenfiddich is matured in oak casks such as rum casks from Cuba (in the case of Gran Reserva), Bourbon whiskey barrels from America (Ancient Reserve), or sherry butts from Spain.
Single malt Scotch: a delight usually refrained from until after dinner. Most popular pairing: the cigar
Single malt whisky is a whisky which is distilled at a single distillery, and which is made completely from a single type of malted grain, traditionally barley, (although there are also single malt rye whiskies). Most single malt whiskies are distilled using a pot still. Single malts are produced all over the world, but the best known single malts come from Scotland, Ireland and Japan.
