| Murray McDavid Hampden Rum 13yr, 92,1992, 750 ml. Jamaica |
Product Notes: Pot Distilled, Port Cask Finish, Jamaica.
Colour:Golden amber/Lustrous orange.
Body:Rich and mellow with finesse and power.
Aromas:Spicy, with a beautiful sugarcane foundation. The lively notes of vanilla beans, port, rum torte, basil, coriander and dried flowers provide a feast for the olfactory senses. They in turn are followed by the aromas of prune and dates with lashings of aniseed and liquorice. The spirit is multilayered - complex and compelling.
Palate:The flavours of coriander, dates and sugarcane provide a brilliant opening taste experience then the liquorice and aniseed explode onto the palate. This may be a more mature rum but it really punches its weight. After a few moments more fruits emerge, dry sultanas and raisins, pomegranate and dried tangerine and the bourbon sweetness intermingles beautifully giving that extra dimension to the spirit. A hidden treasure has just been discovered.
Finish:The taste takes a time to depart, lingering long and sweet like a sensuous liqueur.
